Covid-19 cleaning precautions

With Covid-19 still posing a threat to everyone’s safety, we thought we’d take a moment to go over the extra steps we’ve taken to help ensure we’re doing our part to prevent the spread of infection. Our top priority is guest satisfaction – so by extension guest safety is paramount. We’ve taken extra care to ensure the cleanliness of the entire property.  


No matter if you’re just stopping in for a short visit, or you’re coming to stay with us to self isolate for a couple of weeks.  With enhanced cleaning procedures and outdoor access to your room, you’ll rest easy knowing you’re as safe as possible – tucked away in one of our rooms or suites. 


We’ve listed below all the measures we take to help ensure your safety when you stay with us at the Anchor Motel and Suites. If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Employee training:

All our employees have undergone training sessions and must comply with our new operation standards regarding COVID-19 health and safety protocols. It includes physical distancing, hand hygiene, face masks, increased sanitation frequency and glove use. All employees are instructed to remain absent from work and procure a covid test if they exhibit any symptoms of covid-19, and must be cleared before returning to work.

Plexiglass Dividers:

In addition to the mandatory masks, we have installed dividers in the reception area, so there is an extra layer of protection between the guests and the staff. Dividers and other surfaces are disinfected regularly so you can be sure they’re clean and contaminant free.


Every staff member must wear a mask at all times, no matter if they’re at the front desk, or servicing one of the rooms.  In the reception and common areas all guests are required to wear a mask in accordance with Prince Edward Island’s health and safety guidelines

Hand Sanitizer:

Hand Sanitizer is provided in the lobby, and all guests and staff are required to sanitize their hands upon entering. We’ve also got personal sized bottles in stock which are available at your request – so you always have a little bit with you while exploring our wonderful province. During cleanings our staff sanitize their hands, then wear protective gloves to minimize any risk of spread



All the furniture in common areas is disinfected daily. Extra attention is paid to the surfaces touched more frequently such as the door handles. Surfaces like desks, tables,  and other objects behind the counter are regularly wiped down with disinfectant. The washrooms are sanitized frequently, and all of the supplies are routinely restocked.

We make sure to sanitize room keys before handing them over to you, and again when you return them.

Food Safety Standards:

We normally operate a Continental breakfast during the Summer tourist months; however in order to ensure we’re doing everything possible to keep our guests safe and reduce communal gathering, we’ve decided to close it down for the time being.  We look forward to when we can safely open up again and offer you your favourite breakfast to kick off the day, but for now it’s probably best that we focus our energies on keeping everything sterilized while offering a fantastic experience for our guests.

Guest Rooms:

Our guest rooms go through a complete deep cleaning before every guest’s stay. All of the linens are removed and washed with antimicrobial soap that leaves the beddings soft and fresh, for a cozy night’s rest. We sanitize all of the countertops, the kitchenette, night stands as well as the seating area. We pay extra special attention to things like the dresser handles, telephone and remotes to ensure they’re as clean as can be. 

The bathroom is completely sanitized from top to bottom, with all the porcelain surfaces completely sprayed down with sanitizer and wiped clean. 

Dishes and cookware are cleaned upon a guests departure and dish cleaning supplies are provided so that our guests are able to wash any dishes or cookware they’ll need during their stay.

We take extra care sanitizing all of the porcelain fixtures.

Self Isolation In Style:

Since all of our rooms are accessible from the outdoors, they’re perfect for customers needing to have a 14 day isolation. You’re easily able to have whatever you need arranged for contactless delivery right outside your door.  Stock up on groceries and take advantage of our kitchenette suites where you can prepare your own meals without relying on takeout food. With high speed wifi available – enjoy video conferencing, streaming and gaming.

Medical Assistance in CAse of Covid-19 Symptoms:

We’ll help support our guests, should they ever feel unwell during their stay with us. If you feel you need a covid 19 test we’ll help direct you to the testing station. We’ll put you in touch with pharmacies that are able to deliver right outside your door should you need anything. We’ll do what we can to help you out – all you have to do is call us and let us know what you need and we’ll do our best to make sure that your needs are taken care of.
